
Walter is a U.S. Navy Combat Veteran and subsequently focused over 20 years applying problem-solving skills he obtained from performing as U.S. Navy shipboard electrician with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) Operation and Maintenance Division. This career path led Walter from being an industrial electrician/fire alarm technician to a program development officer, managing various facility management operations. His most revealing duties included electrical power distribution centers, performing as a liaison and team lead for facilities management on a NASA wide Integrated Asset Management Program, and serving as a traveling Strategic Asset Team Member and liaison on a SAP Enterprise Resource Planning implementation project. A few of his most prominent Fire Alarm and Building Automation Projects include: the Balfour Beatty Construction deliverance of Washington, DC’s first LEED Platinum Core and Shell (CS) Certified office building located on 700 Sixth St., and a complete system upgrade to the National Air and Space Museum’s fire and building automation systems.

Al Thomas is a U.S. Air Force combat veteran and a highly accomplished senior executive with more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience. He is recognized for his decisive leadership and proven ability to streamline business operations, including financial controls, budgeting, analytical forecasting, strategic planning, and performance measurement.
Al currently oversees the Protective Services Division and brings a results‑oriented approach supported by a strong academic foundation. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from LaSalle University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Averett University. His executive education includes graduation from the Administrative Officers Management Program at North Carolina State University, the Professional Executive Leadership School at the University of Richmond, and the Tennessee Law Enforcement Executive Development Course sponsored by the FBI National Academy.
